The New Hardy Greys Streamflex XF2 Fly Rod Unreal Quality

I know now how to justify getting my new addition to my fly fishing arsenal. I will just say I am getting my tackle in order for the upcoming spring. My last post dealt with this website I found call the Anglers Habitat Ebay Store. For those of you who are not familiar with the site, they sell all types of fly fishing tackle with an added bonus to accept your old tackle as a trade in toward on a new purchase. My new purchase in this case from Habitat was my New Hardy Greys Streamflex XF2 Fly Rod 9 ft. 4 pc 3 wt. I have to thank River Damsel for this purchase. I viewed her post on High Sticking and it was so on point that I had to follow through with this purchase----and am I glad I did. I received my Streamflex Friday and was blown away with the quality and the action. I haven’t fish it as of yet but you can bet I will be going out in the next week or so to give it a try. The appearance, lightness, fast action with a somewhat stiff butt action is what really impresses me about this rod. Oh did I mention that it is USA made. To put it simply I am pumped and can’t wait to get on the water with this stick!!!!

Bill, I'm going to check out that site, but I'm worried that you are hopelessly addicted, not only to fishing, but looking for excuses to buy more gear. Peace my friend.

It may take a while for a report. I found out late yesterday my reel that I ordered from another company got lost. The Post Office is searching for it. Thanks for the comment

I do know this I need to stay off the fly fishing websites; they are not good for my wallet. Thanks for the comment

I will make a trip to an area lake that I usually start fishing in late February. I want get to do any trout fishing with it until spring. The lake I fish is out of its banks and the generators below the dam is running pretty much all time until late March, so the tailrace is a flood. Thanks for the comment

I can’t wait to get on the water with this 9 ft. 3wt. This is the longest 3 wt I have ever fished—should be some kind of fun. Thanks for the

Don't pay attention to Howard...I don't!...haha. I am soooo excited for you, my friend! This is the rod that I tested out a few months ago. You are going to love it! I was looking at the 10' 5wt...But, I believe that you have the right one for the type of fishing that you want to do. Can't wait for your review. (And you do need to spoil yourself sometimes!)

I almost went with the 4 wt. but after talking to the guy who owns the fly shop; he told me that the 3wt. is very close to the 4. He also said that this is a fast action rod and has somewhat of a stiff butt section, which I discovered after I actually touched the rod. I really don’t like to buy a rod unless I can put my hands on it first, but in this case yes I feel I made the right decision. Thanks for the comment

I was looking for a rod with more length and sanative enough to land a tiny fly with ease, but yet also deliver a small popper. In this rod I feel I found it. Thanks for the comment

After you fish with it a little, send it over to me so I can offer a second opinion. Just wondering which is worse, losing your stuff at the post office or on a float trip?
