No one but me and a couple of guys I fish with fly fish Smith Lake. I wish that were true on the Sipsey Tailrace where I trout fish. I'm already looking forward to next season as well as you I'm sure for a fantastic fly fishing season next year. Can you believe we are approaching 2021, we must be getting old!! I missed out on my smallmouth attempts this year, but there's always hope for another good season. rivertoprambleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10049232742240328847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-23287814068315619262020-10-10T09:45:14.307-04:002020-10-10T09:45:14.307-04:00Alan
I can't begin to tell you how much fun it...Alan
I can't begin to tell you how much fun it is to land the Spotted Bass on Smith. I have said this before but I will remind myself again, that I missed out on a lot of fly fishing when I was younger. Now I am playing catch up, going at least 3 times a week. I hate to see the season end for this year. When it starts getting really cold I hang up the fly rod and get ready for another spring season coming soon. Of all the lakes I have fished over the years...Mark
Of all the lakes I have fished over the years; Smith Lake is the best for landing quality fish and certainly for the scenery. A lot of indivduals who fish the lake don't catch fish becasue they try to fish it with heavy lures and tackle. Going light fishing its super clear waters is the way to to be productive on the lake. Me and a couple of my fishing buddies are the only ones who fish the lake with a fly rod. In fact, I fish the lake much more than the tailrace below the dam. I can escape the huge crowds at the tailrace and fish isolated waters on the lake. In short, I can hear my drag sing on my fly reels on the lake as opposed to the tailrace!!
Hope you guys are doing well and thanks for the comment Bill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-65916820236398863652020-10-09T19:42:49.557-04:002020-10-09T19:42:49.557-04:00Bill nice bunch of bass there.
