I am going to invest in the Bass Bug line before next spring. I will need this type line to fling a size 4 popper which attracts the better bass. They do not work well with small flies or in any situation where delicacy is needed. I have the Cortland 444 Bass/Big Fly line. The SA Bass Bug is expensive at 70.00---I may break down and get a spool,if I can find it cheaper. I may try that next week and see what the effect is. I too like this line. thanks foe the commentBill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-73132929736180065292011-08-29T13:19:23.380-04:002011-08-29T13:19:23.380-04:00Kev

You can look at it and tell it has more weight than the average fly line. I was using the 6 wt. version and know it was heavier than the average 6wt. line. It does have a heavier tip section which help to fling the popper. As I stated I was really surprised how easy it was to cast the big poppers even in the wind. thanks for the commentBill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-88012410883181548052011-08-29T13:12:33.610-04:002011-08-29T13:12:33.610-04:00Texas

I was amazed at how far I could fling that big popper. I was even able to give great distance using the # 4 popper, and that is a big popper. My only problem with the line is the cost, at 70.00 a spool that can add up. One of my buddies let me try this line, I may have to save up to get my spool. thanks for the commentBill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-4650489317136083532011-08-29T13:10:26.687-04:002011-08-29T13:10:26.687-04:00I never knew they made a specific line for this. ...I never knew they made a specific line for this. I think I could go to a 6 wt instead of the 5 wt I was using and still get better distance. The line I was usng Saturday was given to me to use by one of my buddies. I like the line but it is a little pricey at 70.00 bucks. I think I will go up one weight and try that first before I invest that kind of money in fly line. thanks for the commentBill Trussellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15351692272817692157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8518971929369280752.post-69390295123523509292011-08-29T12:56:44.230-04:002011-08-29T12:56:44.230-04:00Blake
